Youth Advocate Program in Colorado

Colorado became NYAP’s twelfth state of operation in 2023, marking an exciting opportunity to expand our mission into the Centennial State. Our Aurora regional office represents both a fresh start and the culmination of nearly three decades of experience, as we bring proven expertise to Colorado's unique landscape of urban centers and mountain communities.

Our Colorado team embodies innovation in child and family services. Our team works closely with our system partners to address community-specific needs through strategic implementation of our successful programs and practices from across our national network.

Why Choose NYAP Colorado?

What sets NYAP’s Colorado services apart is our innovative energy and nearly five decades of proven results. Our Aurora-based team understands Colorado's landscape—from urban Denver metro challenges to rural mountain community needs.

We've built our Colorado foundation on collaborative partnerships, working closely with local schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations to create comprehensive support networks. This integrated approach ensures those we serve receive coordinated care rather than fragmented services from multiple foster care or adoption agencies. By combining direct services with community capacity building, we're helping create sustainable solutions that benefit children, youth, and families throughout the Centennial State.

Foster Care in Colorado

Our foster care program in Colorado is built on the belief that children and youth thrive when they are cared for in their own communities by trusted adults who are truly invested in their well-being. We provide foster parents with training in trauma-forward care, so they feel prepared to meet emotional and behavioral needs with patience, compassion, and effective support.

We’re proud to welcome foster families from every background across Colorado. By opening your home, you can offer stability and encouragement to young people as they heal, grow, and deepen their connections to the families and communities they call home.
