Family Time

Helping Families Reconnect Safely

COLORADO

At the National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP), we are committed to keeping families connected and supporting reunification whenever possible. We work alongside children, youth, and families to provide the services they need to thrive within the communities they call home.

When visitation is part of a family’s case plan, our Family Time program offers safe, supervised, and meaningful opportunities for connection. These visits are designed to strengthen relationships and preserve the essential bonds that support successful reunification.

Our Family Time services are designed to provide comprehensive support that ensures each visit is safe and purposeful for everyone involved.

  • Coordination and collaboration with all parties involved

  • Emotional and behavioral support for children and youth before, during, and after visits

  • Creating a welcoming, positive environment that encourages family connection

  • Thorough documentation in accordance with case plan requirements

  • Parent coaching, including active guidance and proactive redirection as needed

Who We Serve

Family Time provides a structured and supportive environment where families can connect, often as part of court or child welfare requirements. Our employees facilitate each visit to encourage positive, meaningful interactions while prioritizing safety, emotional well-being, and comfort for everyone involved.

Our Goals

We work to create a setting that feels as natural and comfortable as possible while meeting all documentation and reporting requirements from referring agencies.

Our services are designed to:

  • Reduce the stress children and youth experience before, during, and after visits

  • Encourage open communication and collaboration among all parties

  • Support progress toward reunification whenever appropriate
