National Youth Advocate Program in Florida
Since 2007, the National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) has delivered essential youth and family services throughout Florida. Beginning in Broward County in partnership with ChildNet, our Florida program has expanded to serve families across the state through our community-held offices, ensuring strong local support across the Sunshine State.
Services We Provide in Florida
n Florida, we understand the importance of delivering individualized, culturally responsive support. That’s why we offer a wide range of services designed to meet the unique needs of youth and families across the state:
Foster Care - Provides youth with safe, nurturing temporary foster homes while their families work towards achieving reunification
Behavioral Health Services - Offers outpatient therapeutic services for youth and families to promote safety, emotional well-being, and long-term success
Broward Respite Program - Gives foster, relative, and kinship caregivers time to rest and recharge, as well as enhancing opportunities for youth to practice social and emotional skills in a supportive environment
Case Management – Connects youth and families with essential services and community resources, coordinating support to reduce duplication and gaps to help them achieve stability and success
CHANCE Program - Provides specialized, trauma-responsive services for youth who have experienced human trafficking, which includes uniquely trained foster homes as needed, individualized therapy, and ongoing support
Intensive In-Home Services (IIHS) - Delivers intensive therapeutic support directly in the home to help strengthen family relationships, improve functioning, and reduce barriers to care
TEAM Program – Mitigates the trauma of separation on behalf of youth who are unable to safely remain at home through active engagement and support of their families as they work toward reunification
Parent Development - Strengthens parents’ and caregivers’ skills to promote stability in the home and support positive family relationships, accepting referrals from contracted providers for parents of any age who have children under 18

Foster Care in Florida
Florida’s foster care system serves youth with diverse backgrounds and complex needs. NYAP responds with individualized, trauma-responsive support that recognizes foster parents as essential partners in each youth’s care and well-being. We also encourage healthy connections between foster and primary families to help strengthen relationships, reduce trauma, and support successful reunification.
From licensing through every stage of the fostering journey, NYAP equips foster parents with the training, tools, and ongoing guidance needed to provide compassionate, effective care. Our team maintains close communication with foster parents to ensure they feel supported, connected, and prepared for success while helping youth and families achieve stability and long-term success.

NYAP’s behavioral health services are designed to meet the evolving needs of youth and families across Florida. Through evidence-based therapies, we promote self-sufficiency, personal growth, skill development, and resilience while strengthening family relationships and supporting emotional well-being.
