Adoption Services
OHIO
The National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) provides adoption services for children and youth in need of a permanent home. We collaborate with foster parents, adoptive parents, primary families, and kinship caregivers to offer information and support throughout the adoptive process. Our goal is to help families make well-informed decisions about adoption and to connect children and youth with families that are committed and capable of meeting their needs.
Children and youth in need of a permanent home come from a wide range of backgrounds and circumstances. They have unique needs, experiences, and primary family connections. They may:
Be between the ages of 0–18*
Be part of a sibling group
Be in the permanent custody of child welfare or their primary family
Be eligible for a monthly subsidy and Medicaid
*The majority are school-age and older
CONSIDERING ADOPTION FOR YOUR CHILD
Regardless of where you are on your journey, the National Youth Advocate Program is here to provide care and support. We respect your decision, and if your decision is to place your child for adoption, we’re here to help you create the best plan for you both.
BECOMING AN ADOPTIVE PARENT
Adoptive parents have different stories and strengths. What matters most is your ability to provide a safe, stable, and loving home for a child or youth.
