Foster Care in Louisiana

Strengthening Families Through Community Support

Since bringing our services to Louisiana in 2019, NYAP has partnered with youth and families across the state to celebrate successes and provide support during challenging times. Guided by Louisiana’s resilience, rich culture, and strong sense of community, our family-centered approach provides responsive, individualized services that help those we serve increase stability, strengthen relationships, and work toward long-term success.

Louisiana's Foster Care Landscape

In Louisiana, the need for compassionate foster parents continues to grow. In recent years, the state has experienced one of the largest increases in the number of youth entering foster care nationwide. NYAP’s foster care services provide trauma-responsive support that recognizes the unique needs of each youth and their family.

Our foster parents serve as mentors and trusted supports for both the youth in their care and their families. By helping strengthen these relationships and promoting family engagement, we help create a foundation for healing, stability, and successful reunification.
