NYAP Partners with Cultivate Food Rescue to Support Individuals & Families

South Bend, IN (May 19, 2026) — The National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP), a human services organization that provides preventative care, foster homes, and behavioral health services with a focus on keeping families safely intact, is proud to announce a new partnership with Cultivate Food Rescue in South Bend, Indiana.

Through this collaboration, NYAP and Cultivate Food Rescue are working to ensure that children and youth experiencing the foster care system have consistent access to nutritious, high-quality meals.

This initiative will serve families involved with relative, kinship, and foster care by providing frozen meals prepared by Cultivate Food Rescue. Families can schedule meal pick-ups by emailing SouthBendMeals@nyap.org.

A key component of this partnership is reducing the financial strain on relative and kinship caregivers who step in when children and youth cannot safely remain at home. By supporting these caregivers, the program helps them stay connected to their families, cultures, and communities, helping reduce the trauma of separation and supporting successful reunification.

The meals will also support foster families during critical transition periods, particularly when a new youth or sibling group joins the home, and routines are still being established. In addition, meals will be used across NYAP’s preventative and supportive services, including the Father Engagement and Family Preservation programs.

For nearly 50 years, NYAP has provided comprehensive services to children, youth, and families and is recognized as a leading foster care provider in Indiana. The organization also serves communities in 15 additional states.

“We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Cultivate Food Rescue,” says NYAP. “Together, we are helping ensure families have the resources they need to provide stability, care, and nourishment.”
