PARENTING EDUCATION SERVICES

NYAP understands that families, for various reasons, may find themselves in need of education. Whether bonded by love or necessity, blood relation or community connection, NYAP is skilled in support of families of all types to thrive together with enhanced communication, empathy, behavior management and navigation of family roles.

NYAP provides parent education services based on Dr. Stephen Bavolek's evidence-based Nurturing Parenting curricula. Specific curriculum elements are implemented based on the initial assessment findings using the related Adult - Adolescent Parenting Inventory (AAPI-2).

The program, having a built-in assessment, allows NYAP staff to build parent education on the needs of each unique family, providing relevant and effective intervention.   

Parent education services are provided in Columbus, Ohio to families involved with the Care Management program and in Indiana under contract with the Indiana Department of Child Services.
