History of ACTION

ADOPTING CHILDREN TODAY - INFORMATION/OPTION NETWORK, better known as ACTION, Inc., began in 1994 as an adoptive parent support group. Several of the adoptive mothers who began ACTION were also social workers, and they began to dream of ACTION growing into a full service adoption agency. In 1997, three of the mother/social workers, Patricia A. Hill, Sheila Jenkins and Linda McCallister, began the licensing process to open an adoption agency. When their license was granted by the State of Ohio in February of 1998, they had a list of families ready to begin the adoption process.

In June of 2015, ACTION became the adoption arm of National Youth Advocate Program and continues to provide pre- and post-adoptive services to families as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
